Villager would not start up initially. When checked by dealership, the dealer stated that the fuel pump was unable to deliver constant fuel pressure to the engine and needed replacing. Owner is having fuel pump replaced.

Fuel leaks between the fuel pump and the engine, causing fuel to smell inside the vehicle. Dealer replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filler which did not correct the problem.

The fuel pump is not able to keep a continuous pressure of fuel to the injectors; fuel backtracks to the gas tank. The fuel pump had been emitting a whine for several months prior to failure.
