problem #1

Apr 112007

Cooper 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 35,000 miles

The power window motor on passenger side failed... it would not open/close.

This is a big problem because when you open/close the door, the window retracts

a little so it won't hit the door frame.

Again I took it in and they kept the car another day to replace the entire motor

assembly... said it had a 'dead' spot.

I finally wrote a letter to the MINI headquarters and its president. He had an underling call me, a 'vice president' of something... who said essentially, sorry ... but offered no other options or solutions. If this car was a toaster, I would have taken it back long ago for a refund. This car has had the worst mechanical history of any car I have ever owned. And, most annoyingly, the company doesn't seem to care. I told them I would tell anyone who asked.... DO NOT BUY THIS CAR... it is a total problem mechanically.
