problem #1

Oct 192007

Cooper 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 35,000 miles

Every time I took the car in for a "standard' visit, i.e. oil change etc, they found some major problem with it. This time I went in because when the fuel tank was full, the gauge read empty until it was half full. They replaced both fuel sensors (it's a 'saddle' tank')

and when I went to leave, the fuel pump was whining really loudly, so I was about a hundred yards away from the dealer when I heard it, so drove right back in and they looked and said the pump was bad... Another day in the shop and another 'warranty' repair.

If I had been required to pay for all the repairs on this essentially 'brand new' car, which I bought brand new, I would have at this point bought about 25% more of it again.
