My 36 month warranty expires just one month before the problem occurs. Mini Universal City will not honor it, even though they are aware the problem I am speaking of is prevalent in the Mini S Coopers. Called Mini USA to report problem, they suggested seeing if the Service Manager would waive a Diagnostic and test the problem and make an exception since my car only has 26k miles and the warranty just expired. No response after several messages. I hire a mechanic to do the work. He has the fuel pump on order ($700) and it's taking 2 weeks to get it delivered since there is a current recall for the Mini S Coopers and they are all being used up by that recall. I have to rent a car.
This is costly, total out of pocket after everything: $1500! Thanks a lot Mini, for nothing! Because of this, I will never think about buying another Mini Cooper again, service is not reliable and recalls are only done to help and save the dealer and but not the customers.
