problem #1

Cooper S

I wrote Mini North America about this problem and mentioned that there are a lot of complaints in the forums about the 2005-2007 models having this very problem of the cable snapping on the convertible tops.

Rather than being willing to assist with the cost of the repairs, which Mini does on a case by case basis here is the response I received:

1. Because I bought the car at CarMax used I am not considered a 'preferred' owner of the vehicle. -Really? I have to buy from a Mini Dealer to be considered a 'preferred' owner? Wow the ego those German Engineers have about their cars

2. There are no maintenance records on the vehicle since 2008. -This is my problem? I just bought the car in 2011 and I am being blamed for no maintenance since 2008.

I have no use for Mini right now and because of the attitude, not the car (I love my car), I would never buy another one.
