Cooper S Clubman 1.6L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,000 miles

I spent about $1500 over the last 6 months from November 20204 to about April 2025 getting the solenoids replaced in the transmission. After spending about $3000 I finally decided to pull the trigger and replace the transmission for $5816 which is almost as much as the car is worth, but with rising car prices, a used replacement would be probably in the $12-$15k range so it seemed cheaper to replace the whole transmission with a used transmission for $5816 that comes with a 12,000 mile 12 month warranty than to scrap and look for a good used replacement.

I was just shocked when I looked online that I couldn’t find anyone else having transmission problems on their mini coopers. I’m the only one? Wow. Or else nobody else is complaining.

Also, why doesn’t it let me put the cost to replace the transmission in the car complaints website?
