After much deliberation, I part exchanged my Mercedes for a brand new Mitsubishi ASX 2 in September 2014. It ticked all the boxes for my needs. The car initially was great and overall I was enjoying the new car.
Within several weeks, I noticed a high pitch squeaking noise coming from the front brakes. It got progressively worse until my daughter said she was embarrassed when I picked her up from school as when I pulled up the noise was awful. This prompted me to take it back to my local dealership and tell them about the problem. Initially they tried to suggest it was dust or that maybe (because I had taken it to a car wash) there was grit in the brakes!!
To be fair.. the dealership have tried to change every conceivable part (disc, pads, brakes) but this has now been ongoing for 18 months..and the problem remains. I am literally on my last nerve. They have told me to contact Mitsubishi head office as there is nothing more they can do. This I did (and have waited patiently for 4weeks) to be informed today that there has been no complaint from any dealership about squeaking brakes and therefore have deduced it is my driving!!
I know for a fact there are several local customers with squeaking brakes with their new ASX. I am beyond furious. The squeaking brakes are now worse than they have ever been. I am miserable and can only see that I will have to start legal proceedings. If anyone can offer ANY advice I will be so grateful. Thanks.
