I may be sitting at a red light or going 70 down the interstate and it's like someone pulls the key out. Sometimes if I leave the clutch out, it will fire up before it stops, but usually it won't. The car turns over fine, but I don't hear the fuel pump priming, and theres no firing. I'm stranded sometimes for a few seconds, minutes, and more times than not, a few hours. I've talked to a million mechanics and they won't put it on the computer, because with no check engine light on, the car comes up as perfect. It's a great car if I can just fix this. It runs hard and I've done interior work and beefed it up. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!! I don't want to give the car away.

I got this 1995 Mitsubishi RS manual transmission. I started to trick it out a little, Lambo doors, rims, new carpet, street glows, the works, it looks great and ran great until a few weeks ago. As I was driving, the car suddenly stalls out. The tach and the speed gauges both drop to 0, and the car won't take the throttle. Although the gauges are down I can hear the engine still running and sometime when I switch the key back it will fire back up. But most of the time that doesn't even work the car would then completely shut off. So then its the waiting game. Try to start and wait. I took the car to many mechanics and the first thing they ask "Is the checked engine light coming on?" and since the light doesn't come on they guess. So I had a new fuel filter, fuel pump, all the relays, ignition coil pak all put on the car and it still does the same thing. Now they say "It's got to be the Engine Computer" but i'm tired of wasting money on a guess. Has anybody fixed this problem if so let me know because I need some answers from someone that knows what they are talking about
