About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
The condensation from the ac does not drain out of the vehicle properly. It is a "known" design flaw that does not provide a drain 'tube" but the water is supposed to drain out a hole and out through the frame behind the dashboard. The hole can become plugged. The water runs into the vehicle under the carpet an under the floor on the driver side. The carpet can have standing water making the foot wet and slippery on the pedal. Also the water has nowhere to go. The water will then evaporate and recondense on the windshield, obstructing views. I can never completely dry out the water and I am worried that mold is growing in the car. Also the waterlogged floor stinks horribly. I have a young child who complains everyday about the smell, but I worry more about the mold and the other safety issues I described above.

Serious safety issue that will result in slippery floor carpeting, brake, and acceleration pedals due to design flaw. Water from A/C unit entering driver side drivers floor area. Wetting floor panel and carpeting. Possibly a grommet it seems to be a common problem in many Endeavors.

I have a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor. A/C works some times in the city. Most of the time after driving on the open highway it blows warm air or not at all. The thermistor assy has been replaced as well as the resistor harness for thermistor assy. Did not correct he problem. Misubishi states (which is false) that the problem I am having was caused by the placement of a fin sensor by an independent garage. What is a fin sensor (never had this replaced) and do you have any suggestions. Thank you, bill
