In October 2010, I backed out of my driveway and heard a loud noise (I was worried I had hit something). I looked around and noticed that the passenger side rear window was down and I did not put it down. When I tried to put it back up, it didn't move. I contacted my local Mitsubishi dealer and they advised that the window regulator needed to be replaced. Luckily, I was still under warranty. Now, less than a year later, I was driving down a busy highway, and heard that same loud noise. Once again, I thought I had hit something or something had hit me. I pulled off to the side of the road to discover that my driver side rear window was down. I visited my local Mitsubishi dealer and was told that the window regulator needed to be replaced. However, I am now out of warranty and am being told it will be $250 (before taxes and fees) to have this part replaced. I do understand that parts wear out and need replacing but I find it funny that both sides went out within one year of each other. I also don't think it's safe to have my children in the back where the windows seem to fall down at any given moment. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and to find out if there is any recall in the works. Thank you.
