The contact owns a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. The contact was traveling 55 mph when the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the entire dashboard. The vehicle was inspected by the contacts personal mechanic who advised that the battery cable wiring harness failed and caused the vehicle to stall. The contact located NHTSA campaign id number: 99V333001 (electrical system: Battery: Cables) but was advised by the manufacturer that his VIN was not included. In addition, the manufacturer advised that the part needed for repairs would only be made available to those vehicles that fell within the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 134,000.
