She also noticed a steady leak of gasoline in the fuel tank area of the vehicle. Previously the evaporator hose was leaking and an independent mechanic repaired the hose with fuel system clamps. The vehicle was towed to a dealer due to the safety risk. The dealer confirmed that there was a recall for the same year, make and model; however, her VIN was not a part of (NHTSA campaign id number: 01V069000). The failure and current mileages were less than 113,000.
