I purchased a 2008 Lancer when it first came out in May of 2007. Only color available at the dealership at the time was white, and since I needed a car right away (My car had been totaled in a bad accident) I took the white one (soooo not my first choice). Soon about a month after leaving the dealership I noticed a spot on my car (rear passenger door) where it looked like touch up paint had been applied and it was coming off. I had never put touch up paint on my car (and highly doubt that someone hit me in a parking lot and ran to the store to get touch up paint, plus there was not other evidence of being hit i had no dents) I called the dealer and they denied doing it. (Still a mystery) shortly after the paint on my bumper started chipping. It actually looked like road tar but when i tried to remove it with cleaner i realized that it was acutally a huge chip. After further inspection i noticed that all along the bottom portion of the car there are a lot of paint chips, which im sure would not be as noticiable if my car wasnt snow white. Other than that the car is beautiful, runs well and i have had no other issues (knock on wood) - well other than my alarm system but thats obviously in a different category.
