When I purchased this car I had a remote start system installed as well. It worked beautifully for a while but about a year and a half later my alarm system started acting crazy. If the key is in the ignition and someone gets out of any of the passenger doors if i don't wait at least 20 seconds after their doors are closed before i shut the car off the alarm goes off when i turn the car off and take the key out. It had never done this before. I took the car to a dealer and they couldn't figure it out. When I said I thought it was something to do with the remote start installed they shrugged it off. (I also only received one key with this car, since they took my second spare key and used it for my remote start without even telling me that they needed to do that and refuse to make me a new one if i don't cough up 200 bucks! not sure if that's mitsubishi rules or the dealer I went to) In short me and my family have learned to wait to open the doors until the car is off, which is very annoying when you have an 8 year old who just doesnt understand that he has to wait and an impatient husband who just wants to jump out of the car once its stopped.
