I called Mitsubishi and told them my alternator not working. I asked if It was covered under warranty they said yes, but they would have to look at it to be sure it was the alternator. I brought it in and they called me back and said it was the alternator and it would cost $1300 to fix? I said you told me it was covered under warranty. They said it wasn't. I said why tell me it was then. They said nothing. I asked why so expensive? alternators are $200 to $400. They said the alternator was $1300. I said there must be a mistake. They said no. I told them I couldn't afford that. They said I had to pay the service fee. $85. I said why. They said we did a diagnostics on it and you must pay that. I told them I only brought it in because they said it was covered under warranty. They said I had to pay to get my car back. I then got an alternator at the auto wreckers. It didn't work. I got a second one. It didn't work. I took it to a different dealership and they said the alternator was bad. I got a third alternator. You guessed it no go. I don't think its the alternator at all and Mitsubishi won't repair without me paying $1300 for a new alternator to be sure its not the alternator. What the heck?
