I purchased my car and I was super excited because it was my first car. There was only 15 miles on my car, it was brand new. So about 2 and a half or 3 weeks later I noticed that after my car came to complete stop, my car would jerk as if someone ran into the back of my car.

I took it to the service center where I got the car and the asked if I could wait a few minutes so they could run a few tests so i said yeah so i sat adn i waited and about 25 mins passed and one of the service guys came over and say we are going to give you a rental because you may have a malfunctioned transmission. So they had to replace my transmission.

I was pissed about it because there is no reason that I should have to have a brand new transmission put into a brand new car. Now I'm having issues with my brakes. I have to press my brake pedal to the floor and they make a really loud sound when I stop. I have only had this car for 2 months and I'm pissed off. I don't even want the damn car any more. I wish that I had taken someone with me when I went to buy a car because I kind of feel like I was forced into this car and I worked really hard to get a damn car....

In March of 2015 purchased a one prior owner of a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage for my daughter. In October it was taken to the dealer for its dealership only authorized oil change and at that time my daughter brought to the attention of the service rep the noise coming from the wheel(s) of the car. She also mentioned she wanted the brakes looked at. When she picked up the vehicle she was told there was a problem with the left wheel hub (replaced) and the brake pads were replaced.

In late October she took a trip out of state and phoned to tell me her brakes were squealing. I assumed since she told me the pads had been replaced it was a breaking in of the new pads.

It is now December, she has about 30k miles on the vehicle and the brakes went out completely (which I have to think is the primary factor in a rear end collision). I called the dealership and was told they were NOT covered under warranty due to it being a wear item. I have to wonder why is there a warranty at all then since every time you start the ignition there is wear on the car.

I took the vehicle to a brake specialist who then told me the brakes wore all the way to the metal and caused the cylinder to crack under stress and leak fluid. Due to the vehicle being so new, there are no aftermarket parts to replace. So...since the dealership warranty doesn't cover the brakes I'm out $1400. I consider myself lucky though that the cost wasn't her life or the life of anyone else. I do however feel the manufacture owes me the cost of brake replacement as it is, according to the brake specialist, a rarity for a brake failure of this magnitude at 30k miles.

Purchased this car for my daughter going off to college- The warranty was great and I figured with a new car we would have less issues. Was I ever wrong- She called and told me about the brakes in September, I assured her that since it was a new car- it could be something as simple as a rock stuck, she stated no mom it's grinding and making a noise. I headed out of town and drove the car, but because I don't drive it daily like she does it didn't do the noise. In mid- October I received the same report ( It's still doing it) I scheduled and appointment and she drove the car back home the service Department/ The result as stated by them Checked brakes which are at 5mm/ Rotors okay. Can replace brake pads if noise continues. ( this was Nov 01,2015 ) Today Nov 27,2015 They have refused to do anything about it at the Service( needless to say there print was not true to form) / So the GREAT WARRANTY I thought we got on this car I'm starting to question. I could understand if we had been in the car 12-18 months-

Because my CHILD will be driving this thing I will pay to have BETTER brakes pads on the car. MITSUBISHI REALLY SCREWED UP ON THE CHEAP BRAKE SYSTEM. Guess they thought the lack of power the car has that going with a cheaper brake system would stop it. IT STILL HAS TO STOP!!

Again after only 15,000 kms the brake pads are completely worn out and now I need to change the rotors. The Mitsubishi dealership claims it is driver error. I do mostly highway driving and don't see any possibility for me to be heating up the brakes that badly that they are wearing 4 times faster than anyone would expect.

I work with a few other people who drive different cars and they need to change their brake pads every 70,000 kms. Either Mitsubishi cheaped out heavily on these brake pads, or this car is a dud.
