I bought a 1995 used Mitsubishi Montero in 2016. The tachometer has never worked properly since I have owned it. When the key is turned on the needle on the tach goes to 2200 and stays there. Once in a great while it will work properly, increasing and decreasing as the engine RPMs change. From what I have found, this is a common problem with the Montero.
