Problem started a couple months ago. Starter gives off a LOUD grinding noise when starting which goes away about 2 seconds later. Removed old starter and noticed the front edge of the pinion gears where almost completely grinded away. Went to Autozone and got a replacement starter. Worked without any issues for about a week and change, then the noise came back and I noticed the gears were beginning to get worn in the same area.
