The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where a diagnostic was performed that located the failure at the accelerator pedal position sensor. The local mechanic installed a manifold absolute pressure sensor to the engine however the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The acceleration failure was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 80,000.
