Seat belt receiver is malfunctioning, very hard to get drivers and passenger side seat belts to latch. And there have been a few times now I thought they where latched that they have come undone while driving.

The seat belt on front driver side fail and won't lock. I never know that until I notice it then bring it to dealership. There is no way to know it's fail if you never carefully check that. So it's really dangerous to drive.

The contact owns a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that she attempted to put her seat belt on but it failed to retract and did not correctly secure the contact. A grinding noise could be heard when being pulled down to fasten. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that the seat belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 120,000. Updated 6/4/13 updated 06/14/2013
