problem #2

Outlander 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 139,809 miles

We know of 3 other Mitsubishi Outlanders where the transmission has sh*t itself. Granted these were later models than ours (2008). However, we were told this would not happen to our model. Yeah right. Well it did and has the same symptoms as those 2016 model currently involved with a class action against the company.

This will cost approx $9k to fix, which is close if not more than the car is worth.

Outlander

  • CVT transmission
  • 171,000 miles

This problem started initially as a buck, almost as if someone had let the clutch out too quickly on a manual transmission vehicle, but this car has an automatic CVT transmission. As it got worse, it eventually would not accelerate above about 15mph. Make sure you take it to a shop that knows how to repair CVT transmissions.
