The manufacturer was contacted several times and was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact took the vehicle to hayward Mitsubishi (25601 mission blvd, hayward, ca 94544; 510-999-5999) where it was diagnosed that the windshield motor was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was a recall on the vehicle; however, the VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

After contacting the dealer and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed for the recall remedy were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be provided. The first time I drove this vehicle in the snow I realized that the wipers are placed below the heated part of the windshield. This causes the wipers to freeze up and not clear the windshield properly reducing visibility. I think that an angled wiper arm that places the wiper over the defog would correct the problem.I've driven in snowy weather twice since and it has happened each time.
