Outlander PHEV

My forward collision mitigation (FCM) system activated while car was in motion on a city street going straight with no hazards or objects obstructing the vehicle. There was a car far ahead of me that had a significant amount of exhaust (water vapor) and is was a very cold morning. This was the only factor that I suspect triggered the braking episode.
