problem #2

Outlander Sport SE 2WD

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

During the past year the break pedal stopped being responsive and became spongy. At this point it's possible to push the pedal to the floor, but the car will not completely stop. The pedal only works if pressed sharply, but it will still fall on the floor while you're holding it.

I was told there is likely a problem with break master cylinder but yet to find a mechanic who would get on fixing the issue. Most say it's common for this car, and it's ok, without realizing how dangerous driving it is.

Update from Jan 3, 2022 It was indeed the master cylinder. Replacement helped.

See not about airbag not deploying -- same car, same accident. I had called Corporate on 3 different occasions because the dealership told me it was not starting due to cold weather. When it happened at 65 degrees, they told me it was due to the gas station I was using.
