This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Mitsubishi dealer.
I bought my used Outlander Sport because I liked the way it looked and the bells and whistles. I have been performing regular maintenance to this point. I recently began noticing that my car felt like I was driving over a bumpy area of roadway when I accelerated from a stop at traffic light. I lifted my foot from the gas pedal to lessen the vibrations. I had driven that stretch of road five days a week for years and never felt those bumps in the road. Hmmm, no further events that day.
I'm driving a different stretch of road the next day and the same thing happens again. This time I noticed that it happened while I accelerated to pass another vehicle. It felt as though there was something wrong with the transfer of power from the engine to the transmission but, it was the same bumpy/shutter feeling. Now I'm worried about breaking down at the worst time or worse my safety if get into an accident due to this issue.
Last weekend I took it to my local Mitsubishi dealer for transmission service and diag. I left there after approx. 1.25 hours headed to work thinking problem solved. Dealer told me there were transmission problems found. I accelerate to pass a vehicle and sure enough the bumpy shuttering is back again.
By the way, I checked my transmission fluid out of curiosity and noticed that it was the same light brownish color that it was before I took it in. Almost $200 spent and I am angry enough to write this post. Also, I now have an appointment with another Mitsubishi dealer across town and will update you as to their findings asap.
Update from Apr 27, 2019: Orange Park Mitsubishi of Jacksonville, FL changed out my bad transmission under my car's powertrain warranty so, no more money out my pocket. They also fixed my passenger side power window switch problem under warranty as well. They really treated me right.

Well, I just look up and there is recall on that car (#SR-16-006), so I would like to get that fixed.
