The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. While driving approximately 5 mph, the driver's door opened independently and was damaged. The vehicle was taken to charleston Mitsubishi (7010 maccorkle ave sw, jefferson, wv 25177, (304) 721-8316) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed by the manufacturer to file a claim with the insurance provider to repair the door damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 17V233000 (latches/locks/linkages). The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
