This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Nissan dealer.
Engine noise from any car at 40,000 is unacceptable. The techs at Empire Nissan say this is a "normal" sound. The noise has gotten louder since then. This noise began after I had Camshaft Position Sensor Failures at 39,000 miles.

Took car to dealer because of engine tapping noise. Empire Nissan replaced transmission as a fix. Picked up car at dealer, tapping noise still present. Contacted Nissan Corporate, they sent a Master Tech to check on my car. I was told the noise is normal Variable Timing noise. No remedy. I am stuck with a car that stalls and sounds like a diesel, but that's considered normal by Nissan. I waiting for my car's engine to blow-up soon from all this. I guess Nissan is too because my car is at 56,000 miles now. I' sure they're waiting for me to hit 60,000 miles so they won't have to cover the repair.
