Altima SE 3.2L

When the problem began, I took the car into CROWN NISSAN in Greenville SC- told them to fix and/or disarm permanently the ALARM system of the car. Was told that DISARMING ALARM was impossible. They said the driver side door actuator had water damage and replacing it would fix the problem. They said they disconnected my horn and sent it home with me while they ordered the part. The alarm began going off again a few days later- horn and all. When I drove it into the dealership, they told me my part had come in, although no one had called to let me know. No one called me period. When my car was being worked on (both times) no one called to say it was done or what the problem was. Once when I called them, the rep said, "I thought you already picked it up." When I called to find out about the door actuator replacement status, I was told that the alarm problem was NOT caused my door actuator- which they said still needed to be replaced and charged me $500 for. They also said i had a short and without taking the dash board out, they would not be able to find. Again, I asked them to just disarm the system. I explained that I was working 2 jobs to make ends meet and that all I needed was the car alarm not to go off all night and not to have to disconnect the battery every time I got out of the vehicle. (It had even gone off while I was driving. The motorcyclist in front of me at that time, probably wet his pants!) Crown again said there was no way to disarm the alarm permanently, and that it would cost me over $1000.00 to fix.

Meanwhile, I found a friend who advised me to go to the Service department at Kevin Whittaker Chevrolet. I took it into Kevin Whittaker Chevrolet, and the service rep came out to my car. He popped the hood and pulled out a little fuse that he said was to the security system. It has not gone off again. I will never return to Crown Nissan. The alarm caused me and my family 3 nights of sleeplessness and probably bothered my neighbors too. I spent $500.00 that I did not have, and went without my car for 3 days during this fiasco. Not only will I not go back to Crown Nissan, but I will never again purchase a Nissan.
