Altima 4-cyl

The window regulator failed on a car that was transferred from a non-"hot" state, New York, to a "hot" state, Florida. The regulator failed after only two months of hot weather. The regulators where not replaced in initial service campaign which has now expired. Nissan refuses to acknowledge that there was a campaign to replace regulators as it was not a full recall on all cars. This issue does not only affect hot weather states as years of summers in other states can still wear down and damage regulators if this failure was so quick to happen after move.

I purchased my used 2001 Nissan Altima on 12/07/2004, on 01/09/2005 while driving I went to let my window down on the drivers side and it would not go down. My wife also, has a 1999 Nissan Altima that the window on the drivers side stop working and we have a friend with an Altima and her windows stop working too. I notice there are several complaints about the same problem and the dealerships are aware of the problem but there is no recall. I do not understand this. All I know is I had my car for 1 month and my window does not work now. How crazy is that?

Window would only go up and down sporodically. Window regulators have failed. I do not have use of two of the four windows. I bought the car to the dealership and they have acknowledge a problem with the window regultors. According to Nissan there is an active campaign (not a recall) on this vechicle for this problem. How can a company acknowledge a defect, not inform it's customers, not repair the problem, and risk liability from this problem? I am very concerned with this problem as I have two small children who must be driven in this car.

Starting from 10 months to the present, which is 14 months after purchase, both front and one rear window regulator assemblies have failed. The first two only weeks apart. I now, of course assume that the final window componnent will fail as well.replacement of the four regulator assemblies will cost me $900.

I own a 2001 Nissan Altima. During the past year, both window units controlling the up and down of the front windows have failed. My dealer informs me that this is a very common problem in Nissan Altima, but there has been no factory recall notice sent to owners.

While driving the driver/passenger side window stuck in the down position at different times. Consumer took vehicle to the dealership, and they replaced the cable. Consumer feels that this is unsafe because if vehicle is in an accident the driver can be trapped.
