problem #2

Jul 012014

Altima 2.5 S 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

This is the second time I am replacing the bearing. It's really not that bad just jingle sound coming from the wheels. I know it's going to get worse if I don't though. Maybe normal. I don't know what the previous owner did.

Altima SE 3.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 52,000 miles

05 Altimas are famous for losing their front wheel bearings. You will notice a hum and then a grinding sound. You must replace them. I recommend replacing the hub and bearing and it is usually sold in a kit. Don't just replace the bearing because the problem could occur more often.
