I have two keyless entry remotes for my 2006 Nissan Altima that was purchased brand new in January 2006. About 2 months ago they both started working only sometimes, now they don't work at all. I took them into the dealership/maintenance and they tested them both to see if the batteries were low then told me they were defective and I needed to replace them but they aren't covered under warranty. I told them it's not my fault they are defective and that Nissan is responsible for that. They said it could have been dropped in water or in the rain. I told them that was not the case at all and even if it were that they both wouldn't be damaged. Besides they said they were "defective" not "damaged". It is a pain because there is only one key hole to use to open the door which is on the driver side. When I need to open the trunk or the passenger door I have to go around to the driver door and open it then push a button for the trunk or to unlock all doors. That's a nuisance and I am very very disappointed with Nissan for ALL the trouble I'm having with my "new" car.
