My 2007 Nissan Altima has 24000 miles on it but (go figure) the warranty ran out in February 2010. The car was bought on the mainland US and shipped to Hawaii (military). The dealer call my car a "mainland car" out here... Anyway, when I got here, it was bad enough to discover Nissan does not have GPS maps for Hawaii and has no intention of getting them so the GPS was a total waste of money. But now the LCD display locks up and just blinks on and off so I have no radio, no CD, no backup camera, no GPS - essentially, its a big pice of junk in the middle of the dash. The radio works when I start the car but after 5 minutes, the blinking starts and I'm locked on to whatever radio station was on at the volume it was on. No controls on the radio or the steering wheel work once it starts blinking.
It's obviously a bad component in the radio but I guess Nissan is happy with a product that works for 24K and dies. Pretty short sighted considering I get mad at Nissan every time I drive now. It amazing how much the little things matter because they could have had a customer for life for the price of a radio.
