This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Nissan dealer.
I bought on 05-27-2007 a Nissan Altima 15 days later the car was failing, the oil check light went on and a loud sound in the engine came. I took it to the service dept. In Nissan Performance of Durate CA, they are going to have to change the Intake Manifold and Motor and it's going on 8 days and still no answer from the dealership. The dealership said they couldn't do anything and that all they could do is change the parts damaged. It's very frustrating to deal with a company like Nissan because when you call them you get associates who are located in India and I can't understand a single word they are telling me. I honestly hate Nissan and will never purchase a car from them again.

The car would blow white smoke covering the entire parking lot when the engine started. Took it back to the dealer, ended up changing to a new engine. The smoke problem was fixed, but another problem happened.
The car would not start under -6 degrees Celsius if engine was turned off for more than 3 hours. I would crank for 20s and then stopped. If I keep turning it on a few more times, the battery will just die. Changed the battery, alternator, spark plug, starter. Did everything I could. Took it to multiple mechanics and Nissan Dealership. Nobody could find the problem. I just got charged for the tow and the inspection, over $200 at a time. The only way the car would start in the winter is if the block heater was plugged in. Older cars with functioning battery would not have this problem.
Never buy another Nissan.
