2007 Nissan Altima is NOT the car of the YEAR. IN fact NISSAN should not be allowed to sell a car in USA. The worst customer service i have ever had. I sold my Lexus RX300 about three years ago when my son was born to get rid of some payments. Aug of 2007 we were ready to purchase a new vehicle. We did not go with Lexus because everyone says "YOUR JUST PAYING FOR THE NAME" wrong "YOUR PAYING FOR THE SERVICE". Since Aug. 2007 my new NISSAN Altima "THE CAR OF THE YEAR" Has been in the shop five different times. The first month we had it we were going down the road and a piece of plastic about 6 inches long fell out of the dash. About two days later I was about to put my son in his car seat and as i opened the door the door molding fell to the ground. Also the front passenger speaker started popping up U PUSH IT DOWN and look over 5 MIN later and its BACK UP! We took to Nissan and they PULLED UP my carpet removed a piece of plastic beside the gear shifter and POPPED the Plastic Back into place. THEY SAID OK THATS FIXED IT WAS JUST THE CABIN FILTER COVER. Seems ok just a little piece of plastic BUT DID THE FUC@ing piece VIBRATE LOOSE SHIMMY DOWN BESIDE THE CONSOLE AND JUMP OVER THE FREAKING CARPET!!! If that was were it came from it should have never hit the floor while we were diving down the road. ANYWAY TO THE MOTOR approx 6000 miles we start the car and it makes a horrible KNOCKING NOISE. We immediately take it to NISSAN AND they call me that evening and say if was ONLY A HEAT SHIELD and they will have to order the part. CALMLY I said OK I will come pick it up in about an hour. Did I MENTION MY FATHER IS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC FOR NC SCHOOLS!! and all my uncles are mechanics to I HAVE BEEN AROUND A COUPLE CARS!! UPON Arriving i asked to see the VIBRATING SHIELD THAT MAKES KNOCKING NOISES NEEDLESS to say the jacked up the car and could not duplicate any knocking noise from the heat shield even though there is a RECALL on the heat shield. THE car has been back four times now and the still can not hear the knocking noise. WE have decided to go forward WITH THE LEMON LAW. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A NISSAN ALTIMA. GO LEXUS
