problem #1

Having the center console constantly creaking makes the car sound cheaply put together. Later found out the problem was due to a bolt and bracket that had come loose. A local body shop that was doing work on my wife's car was kind enough to order the needed parts from the dealership and will repair it for free. Otherwise the dealership would've charged me an arm and a leg for the repairs.

Update from May 4, 2012: This was fixed by replacing and tightening the screws in the rear of the console.
