The dashboard is a sticky, melted, cracking mess. Horrible looking and feeling. I also worry about how the airbags will work considering it's got melted sticky tar-like substance covering the entire dashboard.

The dashboard of my 2010 Nissan Altima is melting. This melting has created a glare against the windshield making it difficult to drive. It is like a glue, I've tried removing it but it is sticky and can't be removed.

My Altima 2010 dash is melting. Have complained to Nissan Corporate, then went and verified dash melting with Service. Had to call Nissan every week for 3 weeks, then was told Corporate will not fix. My car now has 34,400 miles as of 10/17/2016. All I want is a safe car to drive. You get a glare that could cause an accident. Need to recall all of these vehicles with this problem, before it's to late. Mine is only 6 years old. Had windows tinted when bought brand new and is white in color. Also has had sunshade for most of the time.

NHTSA COMPLAINT # 10916146
Dashboard is melting from the heat and sun, has become sticky, un-cleanable and causing a terrible reflection on the windshield both day and night. Issue appears to be getting worse every week as this car sits outside 24/7 not always in the shade.
I Called Nissan of American and they setup an appointment to have the car looked at by my local dealership/service center. The end result was a wasted day and I was told that since the car was not under warranty (80K miles and 5 years old) there is nothing they could do for me. Estimated replacement cost of $2000.
i brought the car over to carmax to see what they would give me for the car. They saild although most altimas of this mileage and condition would be worth at least $6500-$7000 due to the dashboard condition (NEEDS REPLACEMENT ACCORDING TO THEIR PAPERWORK) they offered me $4500 for the car.

Dash board on 2010 Altima is melting. Many others have complained about this same problem in 2008 and 2009

I went to Nissan. They claimed I could not and would not replace it. I'm very unhappy with Nissan and their service.
