(reported on)

Altima LX 4.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

The clear coat paint is peeling off the front hood and lower bumper in large amounts in various sections. The black paint is really faded on the top of the hood, on the truck and lower bumper. I have seen a lot of cars in the same condition and I thought this is a widespread problem and that there must be a recall. How can Nissan charge people over $30,000.00 of their hard earned money, for these vehicles and in a short period of time to see the paint pelling off. Please help us to resolve this issue.

The only problem I have is the faded paint or lack of clear coat on hood and roof.

Have had this car since 2010, bought this car new from dealer. I started noticing the paint on the roof, top and trunk like someone had taken a sander to them, so took it back to the dealer. They told me someone put something on it. Every 3 or 6 months I get a card in the mail from Auto Butler to get a paint protection put on my car. This paint protection is not holding up at all. I can't wax this car because it will not shine.

Does anyone know if there has ever been a class action lawsuit or recall about this problem?
