Altima

  • CVT transmission
  • 108,956 miles

The worst thing about my Nissan Altima 2012 is that just when it hit the one hundred thousand miles it when from and an awesome car to the worst car ever. Now it’s just sitting there. I can’t drive it anywhere because it goes crazy. It loses power and the cost to fix it it’s more than what it’s worth and still owe money for it. Wow Nissan, you are the worst ever.

Dealership/Nissan did nothing. They kept the car for 2 weeks and said nothing was wrong.

Altima SL 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 103,000 miles

RPMs will increase, but the car doesn't get any faster until it finally lunges and gets going. This can happen once or the entire trip.

Altima

  • CVT transmission
  • 78,000 miles

I owned a 2009 Altima and received a letter concerning that transmission. They extended the warranty to 120000 miles because of problems. Obviously, the problems have not been fixed. I still have a car payment and now have to shell out 3750 for transmission. If Nissan doesn't make this right this will be the last Nissan I purchase. I will go to Toyota. Our Forerunner has 190000 miles and still has original transmission.

Altima S 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 145,000 miles

After reading the other complaints I guess I am not alone. My car does the exact same thing everyone else has posted. When it is hot outside and I accelerate or am cruising at 80+mph, the car will all of a sudden stop accelerating. This is so embarrassing, you will pass cars, trucks, etc. and then your car just stops going and you have the pedal all the way to the floor. I have been trying to go up a hill and an 18-wheeler has almost hit me because I zoomed past him only to have him right on my bumper up the hill because my car would not go! This is dangerous and when I take it to the shop they tell me there is nothing wrong with it. They are unable to re-create the issue because the engine has cooled off by the time they look at it. It is a known problem but Nissan does nothing about it. Now - my car has started to jerk when I let off the gas - no telling what that problem will be. I just replaced the catalyst converter, had a tune-up and still have these issues. I hope someone who is a mechanic is able to figure this out since Nissan can't.

Just not satisfied. I hate the car... I need my car fixed or a new one. I can't really afford to get another one or get it fixed.

Altima SL 3.2L

  • CVT transmission
  • 76,000 miles

It is sad that I have only had this car a year with 70,000 miles on it and it has to have a new transmission put in it. I am distraught at the price that I have to pay for a transmission. Nissan needs to do a recall on these transmissions if multiple complaints have been made. I could have easily been ran into the back of and lost my life while sitting at a red light.

Altima Coupe 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 110,410 miles

CVT crappy vile transmission. Monopoly on parts and computer programing. Anyone thinking of buying one beware, you Will have to replace the transmission for at least $3700.00, so unless someone is giving you the car and you have cash for repairs, your still doomed because the only guarantee on the new one is for 12 months. Just changing the "exceptionally special fluid" @ $300.00 a pop, only guarantees it goes out of warranty before the very next reasonable $3700 repair. Just look and see where they use to extend to warranty to 120000 miles up to 2010. Just ask a independent repair shop, mine said "they're dropping like flies!"

Altima 2.5L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

This car has some kind of acceleration or transmission issue. I've been told that there is not a problem, but if it works at one point and then does not at another point there is clearly a problem. The car seems to accelerate smoothly sometimes and others I drive to blocks before the gears change. There are sometimes that in mid drive I will loose acceleration. This is dangerous on the freeway. I am outraged that these car companies can just run with your money. They charge 100times the amount it takes to make the car and then will not be honorable and admit when they need to correct something.

Altima S 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 40,000 miles

I pull up to a red light and stop then when it turns green I give it a little gas and nothing. It was like it was just idling across the street so I mat it and 30 seconds of the petal to the floor it finally starts to accelerate. Just glad I didn't pull out in front of someone or it would have gotten bad. I want to know if any one else has had this problem or if they have an idea of what it is
