Altima SL 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,000 miles

I bought my daughter a 2013 Nissan Altima SL in Dec of 2021. She was 16 yrs & 3 mo old. This was her birthday/Christmas gift. We have already been through 2 recalls on the vehicle. 1st was the hood latch, 2nd was the headlamps (which has still not been replaced and I am scared to death of her driving at night!!)

And as I was looking at recalls on her vehicle, I had seen where there were several people who had mentioned the floorboards being wet and corrosion under vehicle. For this problem the 1st time we noticed it was when she was cleaning her car out (as she does very often and looks brand new inside & out) she mentioned her back seat floorboard on the right side of her car was wet. The carpet is a dark charcoal color so that's why I did not add photos, you wouldn't be able to really see. But she was vacuuming it out and you could feel how wet it was. I had to use my Bissell to suck up the water so it wouldn't mold/smell & also put a box fan on a chair to help dry it out. This happened again just 2 weeks ago same exact thing & repeated the process of drying it. We checked for leaks from her sunroof, door seals, everywhere. There was no sign of a leak anywhere. There would have been water spots, etc. Nissan denied the lawsuits to the others for this same exact problem. Their vehicles were the 2007 models and up. This is a 2013. So something is definitely still happening in the way they make their vehicles. Something needs to be done.

Altima S 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 20,000 miles

Water was leaking into my drivers side front and rear floorboards. Took to dealer and car was manufactured missing an engine/cabin seal. Dealership installed new seal and gave me a rental while they replaced it. It was a huge job for the mechanic as he had to rip out much of my cars engine and dashboard.

Altima SL 2.5

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,400 miles

Woke up in the morning after a night of really heavy rain with my passenger seat wet. Of course, I immediately checked if all of my windows /sunroof were closed (which they were of course). Water was leaking where the roof liner and A-pillar meet. A good portion of the roof liner was soaked. Took it to the dealer the same day and they checked the sunroof drains and various weatherstripping and couldn't replicate the problem. Was told if the problem came back to return it to the dealer (of course I will). So far, I haven't had a rainstorm since so I'll see if the problem will return.

I'm really disappointed in Nissan's build quality. This is my first and last Nissan that's for sure.

Took the dealer 2 weeks to find the leak. It was leaking through the firewall. The firewall was not properly sealed at the factory. Car should have been replaced.

Arghhhhh!!! Rainy day in your car. Walla It's a wonderful day!!!

You can feel rain droplet drop on your leg while driving. Luckily the droplet are not heavy as a heavy rain. Otherwise the car is gonna a swimming pool. Anyway, it's really really really annoying!!! Mileage is just about 1200km.

Very Frustrated!!!
