About 6 months ago, the interior driver's side door handle broke while I was opening the door. It is plastic and breaks with very little effort. There's never been any rough-housing in my car, simply opening and closing the door. I had the extended warranty, so only had to pay the $100 deductible for this repair. This week, the interior passenger's side door handle broke while the passenger was opening the door. As I said, very cheap plastic is used to make this door handle. Now I have to pay another $100 deductible to repair the passenger side door handle (plus, the inconvenience of time off from work to take the car to the dealer).
The break is such that the door cannot be opened from the inside. I suppose we could exit via the window, or have someone outside open the door for us, but I consider this a necessary repair.
The car has 4 doors, so eventually replacing 4 plastic door handles will be costly - especially, when something like door handles should never break in a car. I've owned cars past 200,000 miles that never had a problem with the door handle breaking. Nissan's door handles break at less than 70,000 miles.

Was out driving, got to my destination tried to open the door but the handle driver side just went limp. I had to roll my window down reach outside to open the door on a car that's only 5 years old. UGH
