Suddenly the brakes have become VERY tight. It takes very little pedal to slow down and if you don't let up on the pedal when coming to a complete stop the cars front end dives and stops suddenly putting you into the steering wheel. A simple tap on the brake pedal that would normally just make your brake lights come on causes the car to slow down VERY quickly. At the same time this started I also began hearing a click in the pedal when you press it and you are sitting in park and the car is running. I called the service department and spoke to the service manager Mike at Coyle Nissan in Clarksville, IN and was told that everything I was describing is normal and it takes "a little time" to break the car in and that having tight brakes is a good thing. I explained how the car suddenly comes to a stop and was told that it was "normal".

Then I went to the dealer to speak to my salesman who wasn't in so another salesman drove my car. He was very rough on the vehicle and really got into the brakes when stopping....thank god for seat belts or I would have ate the dash. He said the brakes felt fine and that yes they were tight but it was "normal". He also said the "click" I heard when pressing the pedal while in park was normal. I told him that this is all completely different than the first 3 months and he said that was the break-in period. I told them both that with the last snow that barely covered the road caused the wheels to lock up with the slightest use of the brakes and was told that all car wheels lock up on the snow. I told them that just touching the pedal would cause this to happen and they again assured me that was all normal. I told the salesman that I decided on the Altima because I had rented several over the years for road trips and NONE of those vehicles had this issue and they were all "broke in". And yet again, he assured me that this was normal and not to worry.

I know these brakes are NOT RIGHT. With each visit and/or conversation I have recorded the events, and mailed them to myself and left them unopened in the case that something happens and I'm killed in a wreck just to show that all the complaints and events took place prior and have let my family and friends know so they can bring a lawsuit against Nissan if needed.
