Altima S Special Edition

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

I have had a very bad experience. The transmission is really a headache to deal with. It is very dangerous in fact. It speeds up and slows down whenever it feels. If I slow down it jerks as if I am driving a manual.

Altima S

  • CVT transmission
  • 93,800 miles

My car would not shift out of first gear, maxing out around 4000 RPM. I was able to shut the car off and drive on to the dealer with no further problems. Left the car at the dealer, they performed a diagnostic check and were unable to duplicate the event. A computer update was applied, Still, I'm out over $150.00.

Altima S 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 44,400 miles

This vehicle is the first car I bought that was brand new less than 3 years ago and already having issues with it like it was 10+ years old. It hesitates to go when I am at a stops light or sign. It's happened a few other times since this last time. The last time it happened I was ready to park the darn thing and tell whoever to come and take their sh*t back for I am tired of having to pull over and wait a few seconds to turn the car on to only work for a little while before starting the problem again.

The car is in the shop and so help me Jesus if they call and tell me nothing is wrong with the damn thing. I have read several of these complaints where the dealers say nothing is wrong. This is probably my last Nissan I purchase since apparently they still have not figured out how to make a transmission work properly with these new CVT transmissions!

NISSAN YOU ALL NEED TO GET YOUR GEARS INTO MOTION AND STOP LINGERING AROUND!!!!!!!!!!

Altima SV 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 53,500 miles

Today while driving my 2015 Nissan Altima with only 53,000 or so miles on it, I attempted to pull away from a traffic light that turned green and my car wouldn't shift into a higher gear. Thankfully I was able to pull over on the side of the road. I tried shifting it to park then back into drive and then drive away, same thing. Until I completely turned off my car then restarted it, it would not shift normally. I took it to Nissan and they said they could look at for $100. Then they could give me a rental car for $38 a day plus fuel. This isn't the only problem I have with this car. I've posted other things on here as well. I also noticed in the last month when you are stopped and then try to go when you push on the accelerator that the car won't go until 3 or so seconds later as if the pedal isn't even attached to the car. Nissan says I'm still under warranty so we will see what they do about these two problems out of 6 which other people are having on here.

Altima

  • CVT transmission
  • 1,015 miles

When going down hill some of the time, it revs up the motor like you have down shifted to hold back the car. When starting up and applying the gas, it is very slow to change gears and acts like it needs to be shifted up although it is in drive.

loud whining noise, holds gears too long

Nissan Altima is not even a year old. Brought it in for oil change, complained about transmission making loud whining noise and holding gears too long. Dealer gave me a loaner car and four days later called me to tell me that the whole transmission is being replaced. Thank god it is under warranty. I have had many cars before, new and used. Never have a experienced a serious problem like this. Especially with a "newer" car. I will go back to European cars in a year or so.
