Altima SV 2.4L;Liter

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Just bought this used Altima only ten days ago. Nothing wrong. Wife drove it to work, parked in a paved lot with no trees. She came back out at the end of the day and there is a 30" crack in the windshield. Starts at the side support and goes towards the middle. No evidence of an impact. It is an interior crack. As noted in my other listing, there was no incident. The window cracked for no apparent reason. CarMax is going to consider fixing it and Nissan has agreed to look at it. This is my first "foreign" car and if this is the best Nissan can offer it'll be the last. In 30 plus years of driving I've never had a windshield spontaneously crack.

Altima SL 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,000 miles

I was drving on the freeway; I heard pop; the windshield started cracked from the left corner towards the center of the window. I've only had the car a month. I have seen several complaints about the Nissan windshield. Can anyone tell me if the warranty covers the windshield?

cracked windshield

I was going down the road at about 60Km/h and then heard a loud crack and thought it was a huge rock that hit me. I stopped and found out that there was a good 6" crack across my windshield on the middle right side.

Insurance wanted $500 to fix it and SpeedyAuto wanted 600. Found a guy who owns his own shop and only wanted $350 for it. Fixed it quickly before it spread but I don't know why it did that. Maybe someone threw something at the car while driving or the heat and cold cracked the glass.

Altima SL V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 7,700 miles

Clean highway, going about 60mph.

Heard a light 'tink' sound.

Got into garage and a 6" crack has appeared on the lower right of the windshield. No gravel/debris impact marks to speak of, just a nice bill to pay for a new one. This is by far the fastest I've ever had a windshield crack on me.

Sun was hot today, might be thermally related?
