The system failure is the airbag I'm not sure if it is a malfunction or what. It started as staying on when I start car then would go away. Then I notice it just come up and would stay on. Hello I-??m not sure how to actually go about this. Just looking for a little clarification or guidance, I purchased my 2017 Nissan Altima from a dealership March 2020. Two weeks ago the airbag popped on that it-??s no longer working and I-??m not understanding why I haven-??t been in any accidents or anything. It doesn-??t make any sense to me that I took the car to Nissan and it cost 1700 just for the part that-??s not including labor. Is this happening to all Nissans and where do I go from here? Unknown, being in the crash as well as post crash visual evidence proves non deployment. 4. Total loss was declared and car was released to Progressive. 5. No warning or error was present in dashboard.

My airbag light came on 2 weeks ago. I took it to Nissan and was told I had no error codes, but if the airbag light came back on to bring it back. The light came on again yesterday. I returned to Nissan to be informed that the airbag has to be replaced. Meaning the entire passenger seat has to be replaced because that is where the airbag is located. Nearly $2,000 to repair it. All of the 17 Nissan models have the airbag recall except for the 17 Altima which is what I have.

On Sept. 15th 2020, I was in an accident on the highway, I was rear ended by a tractor trailer and from there pushed across four lanes head on into median cement wall the car then rolled back into traffic where I was hit again by another truck in the front drivers side wheel and hood area, this sent me back into the guard rail on the other side of the highway. During this collision none of airbags deployed in the front or rear, this car hasn't been in any accidents, and there are no recalls listed for the airbags, the blind spot safety feature was on and did not alert me to driver side blind spot. Immediately after accident I was transported to atlanta va medical hospital off 1670 clairmont rd. Decatur, ga 30033.

All the frontal and side air bags deployed. Police report number: 18002915 was filed. The driver and contact were injured and transported to the hospital via ambulance. The contact stated that the air bags deployed with excessive force and fragments of glass and gravel struck her face. Both occupants were treated and released. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The approximate failure mileage was 33,100.. consumer stated the other vehicle failed to yield right of way on a red light. Consumer also stated she has almost lost her right eye and has had 3 surgeries and is still under doctor's care.
