Altima Hybrid LS

My 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid's transmission failed on my husband while he was driving home from work. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the CVT: http://www.nissanproblems.com/cvt but I am still waiting on the word from the mechanic to confirm.
