The car ran great at first 5 years but it started to show the check engine light recently. I went to the dealer and they was able to identify the engine misfire issue. They advised me to replace the engine head. It costs $4000!!! I couldn't believe this since my car only has 42000 miles and the warranty just expired. I searched on the internet and found other people ran into the same issue I have. It's caused by the design of its hybrid system!!!. The symptom accelerates if you drive locally a lot. It's very ridiculous. Nissan should put an warning sign to let their potential buyer to know the car is no good to drive locally! I didn't save that much gas in the past 5 years but now I have to pay $4000 to repair their design issue!!! I feel very frustrated and pissed off.
My friend who also owned a Nissan hybrid. I am not sure what year it is. He had a crank engine and replaced at 6th or 7th year of owing the car too.
This is really unreliable hybrid car and I will not recommend to any one!
