Armada LE 5.6L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 248,249 miles

After driving for some time (usually over a couple of hours) the RPM's will not go over 2K. If you try and go over 2K the vehicle will drop the RPM's to nothing until you take your foot off of the gas pedal and then press it again. This problem continues until you stop and turn the vehicle off. Once you have turned it off it will reset and then you can go again for a little bit and then it will start again. The duration between the problem showing up gets shorter as you continue on.

Armada V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 143,000 miles

The problem seems to start after the car has been driven for a while. Especially when stuck in traffic or stop and go situation. Problem.... 1. The RPM gauge won't go over 2000 RPM and as you press on gas it drops and the car looses power and eventually stops. 2. It seems like the car is backfiring but not too sure. 3. Have connected the computer to figure out the issue but no codes. 4. Transmission seems fine no visible leaks or loss of fluid I have changed the Cadillac converter and brake boosters thinking it might fix the problem but it didn't.
