Armada

  • Automatic transmission
  • 142,000 miles

We are aware of this problem because we owned a 2006 Nissan Titan. I got stranded on a highway and had to get towed. The Nissan dealership fixed the problem for free.

I just bought the Armada from a private owner two weeks ago.My husband called the Nissan Dealership in Hemet, Ca. and gave them the VIN number to see if this has been fixed from the previous owners. The lady said she never heard of this recall before.

On June 17, 2018 we were coming back home from the movies with my three boys at 10 pm. All of a sudden the car slowed down drastically while on the freeway. It was very scary. My two boys had to run to a gas station, to buy the gas can and gas. It was very expensive and dangerous.

We have been calling Nissan dealerships and they don't want to help. NOT COOL! I can't afford to fix this myself. What should I do?

Was driving on the freeway when my Armada began to slow down/ lose power. I kept trying to accelerate since cars were clearly going more than 60 mph in all lanes but it just wouldn't move any faster! Check engine light and all others began to flash. Unfortunately, I was in the middle lane and couldn't get through to slow lane so the only opening available to get to the curb safely was in the fast lane! I swerved thru and was able to get to the curb right before the truck completely died out! I thought maybe something was wrong with the engine since gas gauge showed I had about 1/4 tank gas! State patrol came by and helped push my truck with his patrol car over to the towing zone while the other stopped the flow of traffic so we could get over safely. My truck was towed home and the following day, I called the car dealer that I bought car from just 4 days prior ( was purchased cash up front to get a so called good deal so yeah, no warranty!) He said to try the gas because some gauges are off a bit. We did that and the truck started back up again! I googled all nissan armada issues and found several other recalls along with the fuel gauge issue! I contacted Nissan but was told my vin# is not included in this specific recall (recall id#68293, campaign# 10vo74000). However, I was told I could take my truck in to replace ECM Relay and CONDENSER as part of other recalls! I was not happy about it but went ahead and took truck to Olympia Nissan where they confirmed the truck did have an issue with sending unit/ fuel gauge. Unfortunately, I would have to pay about $400 out of pocket to get it fixed. I was and still am pissed! Here I am, just bought the truck less than a week, haven't even had a chance to enjoy driving it and find out all these recalls! For safety reasons, I'm now scared to drive with my 2 sons in the truck! I could've caused an accident that day! Do the right thing Nissan and take responsibility for ALL these issues the consumers are having with your vehicles, not just some of it! Don't wait until there are deaths before something is done.
