Engine stalls. While driving, the vehicle stalls. This continues to occur when coasting, acellerating or braking and causes danger as I was unable to safely pull over from the left and middle lane of traffic, or on the freeway. Occurs while driving straight. Research shows a faulty ECM with silicone dioxide build up on the ECM sensor contact inside the ipdm. Found : https://www.cars.com/recalls/Nissan-Armada-2006/ though no recall found on current search. Recal 10V517000 but can no longer find it on NHTSA search site.

I was in stop and go traffic when a grinding/springy sound came out from under and the :brake" light came on. I had no control over the brake pedal, it would go all the way down to the floor but would not stop, luckily I was on a flat road so it didn't move forward or backwards. I was still able to drive the car to a safe spot and used my emergency brakes to get there. If I were going at a high speed, I don't know what would have happened. You can replace a car, but you can't replace a person. I have an 8 month old baby who needs me. My brother in law is a mechanic for all types of cars and has been for years, he told me this is a well known problem with Armadas (04-07). Mine is an 06. At this point I have to keep turning off my car and back on to restart some computer" I am not good with cars. If this happens at a high speed and I can't stop because of this issue it is on your hands.you know there is a problem, yet do nothing about it. This Armada is a deathtrap. I do not feel safe in it, but I don't have the money to buy another vehicle. My brother in law suspects it is the ABS, vdc, brake malfunction. I was speaking to someone else about this issue, and they said they had the same issue on their, and once when a light turn red and he tried to stop he couldn't and ended up in the middle of an intersection. Does someone have to die before anything is done"

Own a 2006 Nissan Armada le. Started my truck and the brake, vdc, slip, and 4WD lights lit up on the dashboard. Thought it appeared because it was getting cold. Drove a couple of blocks down a city a street and heard a loud grinding noise when the brakes were pressed and the truck jolted a little bit. After another block, lights went away and didn't have more any issues on the way home. When I got home, turn the truck off and restarted the truck, no lights. Did a google search and read many issues relating to this. A couple a days later checked the truck, on start-up...no lights, then when I put it in drive, the same lights lit up. Took it to the dealership, lights were lit, brakes engaged, and speedometer was fluctuating and then didn't move. When I arrived at the dealership, speedometer activated again when the truck was put in park. Nissan dealership did a diagnostic test and the advisor indicated both the ECM and ABS actuator assembly were fried and needed to be replaced, $3,100 to start out with. Truck is still at the shop, no work has started. Notified Nissan customer relations since there is a known issue, waiting to hear back. Also called another dealership to see what they could tell me and it was mentioned that there is a known issue. Called the service dept. Back the next day and talked to another advisor, the advisor indicated since there are some are hard codes (U1000, U1001) displayed with the ECM and ABS assembly, the systems potentially need to be replaced.

An estimate of record was originated at Toyota of North charlotte after the collision. The air bags never deployed before, during or after the collision despite the multiple damages and my minor injury. There has been an on-going airbag diagnostic code that has been monitored during other general maintenance repairs that were completed. It has not been brought to my attention if the vehicle contains a defective air bag system. I am trying to obtain the Nissan part numbers/descriptions for the original airbags within my 2006 Armada. The dealership stated that they were unable to provide this data even though the vehicle was purchased, repaired and inspected at that lake norman-cornelius location.

On approximately September 24, 2013 I was driving down my street heading to the store. When approaching a traffic light, I applied the brakes and the brake light went on and I had sudden loss of braking power, with a grinding noise, loose braking motion. The brake pedal actually went all the way down to the floor panel. I was able to stop vehicle, although I had approximately 70-80% reduced braking power. Imagine how scary it was to try and stop a 6,000lbs vehicle with only 20% of your normal braking power. I came within inches of hitting the vehicle in front of me. I turned the vehicle off and back on and problem was gone when I restarted. I took it in to my mechanic, who attempted to see the problem for himself. However, it did not repeat the same symptoms. Therefore, he couldn't diagnose the problem. A few days later, it happened again. I went immediately went to my mechanic so that he could see the problem for himself. Unfortunately, he wasn't in but one of his employees test drove the vehicle. Since I didn't turn off the vehicle this time, he was able to experience the trouble I was having. I returned to my mechanic the next day and he advised me that I should contact Nissan to find out if it's a recall item since his research showed that many people have complained about the same exact problem. I have already sent inquiries through the Nissan website. However, no response has been given. I have had re-occurrences on numerous occasions and the frequency has been increasing. As a matter of fact, as of recently, now all the lights on my dashboard go on for no apparent reason, then I lose braking power. I use my vehicle for work. This could become a real issue. Especially if it results in an accident or worse. Why is Nissan not owning up to their responsibilities?

I had my mom, aunt and 2 small kids in the truck we were on the way to drop my mom off at her home. Once I pulled up in front of her house we noticed the truck smoking. I got out of the vehicle and looked under the hood. I observed wires burning from that point I closed the hood so that the vehicle could cool off. I then walked my mom to her front door as I walked back to my vehicle I observed my truck on fire. I immediately rushed to the vehicle and got my kids and aunt out of the vehicle. The fire department was called and responded within 7 minutes. By the time the fire department responded my truck was in full flames.

Brakes are making a noise and the ABS, vdc and slip lights are coming up on the dashboard. We have tried turning on and off vehicle. This made the lights go off at first. We have checked brake fluid. We have had the brakes inspected. No visible reason for this to occur. I have seen numerous reports on this same problem. Why is my vehicle not covered in the ntb06-040 recall?

Car stalls while in motion. Restarts after 4-5 cranks. This occurred about ten times before car taken to dealer. When car stalls / engine stops and the loss of steering ability and brake assist is reduced. This occurred once on the interstate in the #1 lane with no emergency lane available. Causing several near misses by other cars in trying to coast to the rightside of the road. The car restarted after several cranks and was driven to the local dealer. The ipdm was replaced under the diagnose of a intermittent open circuit inside the module. Also this issue never gave any trouble codes or even no check engine light.. this stalling would occur anytime without warning.the old part was not returned to me even though I requested it before repairs were made. The service writer apparently did not tell the mechanic. The cost to replace the module was $439.
