A couple months ago, I got a recall card in the mail. I contacted the local dealership, Pinnacle Nissan. I was told that with my vin # they requested, there is no recall on my car.
As I was driving to work this morning, suddenly my brake light on my dash came on. Then when I went to brake, it violently started to jerk back and forth and I could hear a loud rumbling noise. I was able to get the car to stop, however it took a long distance. I then carefully got off the road and into a parking lot. I double checked everything such as my emergency brake and it was not on. I then turned the car off and back on and it was fine. The light was off and when I went to drive it was driving fine.
After looking online, I noticed many people who have had this exact experience. After taking it to the dealer, they were told it was the Delta Sensor in the Brake Booster which is according to what I read, $900 to fix. I went back and found the original recall that I received the card for and had called the dealership on and it says it is for the Delta Stroke Sensor Brake Defect. The exact article I found on this website. So I contacted another Nissan dealership in the area and they again said there is no recall on my car. I have the issue that the lawsuit and recall was for but my car, even though it is the correct year and model is according to everyone at the Nissan dealerships, not included in the recall.
I am furious because obviously my car IS effected and I don't know where to go with this issue. I don't see why I should have to pay for something that should be included in the recall. I have also since thrown away the original card that I received in the mail since the dealership informed me my car wasn't under the recall.
